## VILLAGE OF ACME in the PROVINCE OF ALBERTA
BEING A BYLAW OF THE VILLAGE OF ACME IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, TO REGULATE OUTDOOR WATERING PURSUANT TO SECTION 7 AND SECTION 8 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT, RSA 1994, CHAPTER M-26. 1 and AMENDMENTS THERETO, PROVIDING FOR A BYLAW RESPECTING MANAGEMENT AND CONDUCT OF A PUBLIC UTILITY.
AND WHEREAS, the Council of the Village of Acme deers that the public utility be utilized in a manner which prechuded the user of a public utility from wrongfully ar improperly wasting the public utility.
NOW THEREFORE, the Village of Acme enacts as follows:
## PARTI DEFINTIIONS
1. "Outdoor Watering" means the use of the water outdoors in a residential area for any purpose including, kut not limited to;
- (8) watering lawns, gardens or trees and,
3. (b) washing vehicles
2. "New Lawns" means any adult laid sod or newly planted grass seed.
3. "Resident" means any adult person residing at the place of the alleged oftence.
## PARTI WATER RATIONING
1. Ourdoor water shall be restricted to the hours of:
2. (a) 5:00 ani through 10:00 am and,
3. (b) 7:00 pm through 10:00 pr
2. Outdoor watering shall be restricted to specified areas and days as follows:
5. (a) Odd house rumbers - Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays only
6. (b) Even house numbers - Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays only
- (8) Persons in possession of a watering permit for new lawns are exempt trom Section 2.
8. (b) Applications for a watering permit shall be in writing and be accompanied by the permit fee as may be specified by resolution of Council.
9. (c) Watering permits shall be issued upon inspection and approval of the site by the Village Foreman
10. (d) Watering permits shall be valid for a maximum period of three weeks at the direction of the Village Foreman

## PART DI WASTING WATER
1. All residents are prohibited from wrongfully or improperly wasting water.
## PARTIV PENALTIES
- I. Any resident committing a breach of any of the provisions of this by-law, upon piction of breach thereof, may forfeit the right to be supplied with water and shall able to a penalty not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) exclusive of costs, a in case of non-payment of the fine and costs inposed forany such breach to punishment. by imprisonent for a period not exceed sixty (60) days.
2. "Offence Ticker" means issuing a summons and shall be in the form approved by the Solicitor General.
- b) It is hereby provided that when an offence ticket is issued pursuant to this bylaw, then the following procedure shall apply:
1. The offence ticket shall be issued by personally serving it upon the alleged resident offender.
2. Fines established for the purpose of voluntary payment of tags issued pursuant to this bylaws are as follows:

SUPPLIED WITH WATER
THIS BYLAW SHALI, BE IN EFFECT FROM APRIL IT TO SEPTEMBER 30 OF EACH YEAR UNTIL REPEALED.
