BYLAW #2024-07 ## VILLAGE OF ALLIANCE ## WATERING RESTRICTION A BYLAW OF THE VILLAGE OF ALLIANCE, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, TO AUTHORIZE THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER TO CONSOLIDATE OR CORRECT MUNICIPAL BYLAW. WHEREAS, the Council of the Village of Alliance, pursuant to the Municipal Government Act R.S.A. 2000, c-M26, as amended or repealed or replaced from time to time, is authorized to regulate services provided by or on behalf of the Municipality; municipal water system in order to ensure a continued and abundant supply of water. AND THAT Council finds it desirable to pass a bylaw for regulations pertaining to the supply of the THAT this bylaw may be cited as the Village of Alliance Watering Restriction Bylaw! AND WHEREAS, during the period of May 15'h to October 1st of each year, watering of outside lawns and gardens shall not be allowed between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. NOW THEREFORE, watering of outside lawns and gardens with municipally supplied water shall be allowed by all Owners, Tenants or Lessees only on specific days of the week according to their street address pursuant to the following schedule: 1. Odd-numbered addresses (those ending with 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9; Watering permitted Wednesday, Friday and Sunday Watering permitted Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 2. Even-numbered addresses (those ending with 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8; 3. That all commercial, industrial and institutional properties shall follow the same watering restriction schedule. 4. In cases of extreme drought when reservoir levels become critically low, a total watering ban, will be imposed according to the direction of the Public Works Foreman or their designate. ## EXEMPTIONS AND SPECIAL CASES steady supply and use of water: Nurseries, parks, playing fields and public gardens, where failure to water would result in a 1. A person who contravenes any provision of this bylaw by doing any act or thing that is prohibited, or by failing to do any act or thing that is required, is guilty of an offence and liable under summary conviction to pay a fine of not less than $100.00 and not more than $2,500.00 committing a first offense under this Bylaw, is liable on summary conviction to double the amount 2.. Any person who commits a second or subsequent offence under this Bylaw within one (1) year of of the first fine. 3. A Peace Officer or a Bylaw Enforcement Officer employed by the Village of Alliance is authorized and empowered to issue Violation Tags upon an alleged offender in a form prescribed by the Village specifying the nature of the alleged offense. <!-- image --> <!-- image --> ## hief Elected Ofticial <!-- image --> ## Administration Carmen frank READ a third and final time on this 20 day of June \_2024. EFFECTIVE DATE severance of that term. 1. If any term of this Bylaw is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court or tribunal having the jurisdiction to do so, that term is to be considered to have been severed from the rest of this bylaw, and the rest of the bylaw remains in force unaffected by that finding or by the SEVERANCE 4.
