PROVIDEFORTHEOPERATIONOF OFF~H|GHWAY VEHICLESWITHINTHECORPORATELIMITSOF THE
TOWNOFATHABASCA
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
WHEREAS
Pursuantto Section7oftheMunicipalGovernmentAct,RSA. 2000,c. M-26,a Councilmaypass
a bylawfor municipalpurposesrespectingwildand domesticanimalsand activitiesinrelationto
them;and
Pursuantto Section120(5)ofthe Traf?cSafetyAct,R.S.A.2000,c. T-6,a bylawmay
prescribetermsandconditionsforOff--Highway
Vehicles,includingspeedlimitsand routes;and
theCounciloftheTownofAthabascanowdeems itnecessary andexpedientto establish
regulationsinrelationto theuse ofOff-HighwayVehicleswithinthelimitsoftheTown.
NOWTHEREFORE,THECOUNCILOFTHETOWNOFATHABASCA,INTHEPROVINCEOFALBERTA,DULY
ASSEMBLED,ENACTSAS FOLLOWS:
SHORTTITLE
ThisBylawwillbe citedas the"Off--Highway
VehicleBylaw".
REGULATIONS
1.
Nopersonshalloperatean off-highwayvehiclewithinthelimitsoftheTownofAthabasca.
2.
Notwithstanding1.above,snowvehicleswillbe permittedsubjecttothefollowing:
Snowvehicleareto beoperatedonthe designatedroute,as attachedto andforminga partofthis
bylawas Schedule
Transportingthevehicleto andfromthedesignatedrouteshallbe donebythe shortestand most
directroute,
Thedesignatedrouteshallonlybe usedduringthe hoursof7:00a.m. and 11:00p.m.
Nopersonoperatinga snowvehicleshallexceeda speed of30kilometersperhourwithinthelimits
oftheTown.
Allrulesandregulationsas prescribedintheTrafficSafetyActmust be adheredto at alltimes.
OperatorsofsnowvehiclesusethedesignatedroutewithintheTownlimitsat theirownrisk.
3.
AnypersonwhocontravenesthisBylaw,inanypart,shallbesubjecttoa fineof$150.00forthefirstoffence
and$200.00 forthesecondorsubsequentoffence.FinesundertheTrafficSafetyActare alsoineffect.
