AMENDMENT OF BYLAW 1093-25 THE CITY OF BEAUMONT 2026 FEES AND CHARGES BYLAW Adopted November 27, 2025 AMENDED BY BYLAW 1097-26 2026 FEES AND CAHRGES AMENDING BYLAW Adopted February 10, 2026 AMENDED BY BYLAW 1104-26 ACCESS TO INFORMATION BYLAW Adopted May 26, 2026 Bylaw 1093-25 Page 1 BYLAW #1093-25 The City of Beaumont 2026 Fees and Charges Bylaw WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c M-26 provides that a municipality may pass bylaws for municipal purposes respecting services, licences, permits, approvals, and utility services provided by the municipality; Section 8 of the Act allows a municipality to set fees for licenses, permits, approvals, and utility services provided by the municipality; The Safety Codes Act, RSA 2000, c S-1 authorizes an accredited municipality to make bylaws respecting fees for anything issued or any material or service provided pursuant to the Safety Codes Act; and The Access to Information Act, SA 2024, c A-1.4 (the "ATIA Act") authorizes a local public body to, by bylaw, set any fees the local public body requires to be paid under the ATIA Act, which must not exceed the fees provided for by regulation. Therefore Council enacts as follows: PART I - DEFINITIONS, AND INTERPRETATION Definitions 1 In this bylaw: (a) "Act" means the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c M-26; and (b) "Chief Administrative Officer" means the chief administrative officer of the City or delegate; and (c) "City" means the municipal corporation of The City of Beaumont. Interpretation 2 The following rules apply to interpretation of this bylaw: (a) headings, titles, and margin notes in this bylaw are for ease of reference only; (b) every provision of this bylaw is independent of all other provisions and if any provision of this bylaw is declared invalid by a Court, all other provisions of this bylaw remain valid and enforceable; and (c) references to bylaws and enactments in this bylaw include amendments and replacement bylaws and enactments, and regulations and orders thereunder. Bylaw 1093-25 Page 2 PART II - APPLICATION Applicability 3 The fees and charges payable for municipal services provided by the City shall be as outlined in Schedule A attached hereto. 3.1 Where an applicant is required to pay a fee for services to which the Access to Information Act, SA 2024, c A-1.4, and the Protection of Privacy Act, SA 2024, c P-28.5 apply, the fee payable is the maximum set out in the Access to Information Act Regulation, Alberta Regulation 133/2025, Schedule 1: Fees, as amended or repealed and replaced from time to time. Authorization to Reduce Fees 4 The CAO is authorized to reduce any fee set out in Schedule A if an emergency, event, or other circumstance results in a long-term closure or reduction of service related to the fee. Amendments & Corrections 5 All fees and charges established under this Bylaw are final and shall not be appealed to or reviewed by Council. PART III - EFFECTIVE DATE Repeal 6 Bylaw 1062-24 is repealed effective December 31, 2025. Effective Date 7 This bylaw comes into force on January 1, 2026.
