## Village of Berwyn ## 2025 Property Tax Bylaw No. 723A ## A BYLAW TO AMEND BYLAW NO. 723 BEING THE 2025 PROPERTY TAX BYLAW WHEREAS the Council of the Village of Berwyn passed Bylaw No. 723 on April 25, 2025, to authorize the rates of taxation for the 2025 taxation year; AND WHEREAS updated financial reporting has confirmed additional municipal revenue in the amount of $58,785.70 collected through the application of the minimum tax policy, bringing the total municipal tax levy to $689,599.27; AND WHEREAS the total municipal expenditures for 2025 are now reported as $2,126,834.44; AND WHEREAS Section 191 of the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c M-26, authorizes a council to amend a bylaw; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Village of Berwyn, duly assembled, enacts as follows: ## 1. Amendment to Revenue and Expenditures That the following clauses in Bylaw No. 723 are hereby amended: - a. The clause stating: "..the estimated municipal expenses (excluding non-cash items) set out in the annual budget for the Village of Berwyn for 2025 total $2,068,048.74, and the balance of $630,813.57 is to be raised by general municipal property taxation;" ## is replaced with: "...the estimated municipal expenses (excluding non-cash items) set out in the annual budget for the Village of Berwyn for 2025 total $2,126,834.44, and the balance of $689,599.27 is to be raised by general municipal property taxation, which includes revenue from the minimum tax policy." ## 2. No Change to Tax Rates or Minimum Tax That all property tax rates and the minimum per parcel amount of $800.00 established under Bylaw No. 723 remain unchanged ## Effective Date This Bylaw shall come into force upon receiving third reading and being duly signed in accordance with the MGA. READ the first time on this 12th day of June 2025. READ a second time on this 12th day of June 2025. Given UNANIMOUS consent to proceed to third reading on this 12th day of June 2025.
