BYLAW 91-23 -Development Authority 20230422 Page 1 of 2 SUMMER VILLAGE OF BURNSTICK LAKE BYLAW 91 - 2023 Development Authority A BYLAW OF THE SUMMER VILLAGE OF BURNSTICK LAKE IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO ESTABLISH THE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE SUMMER VILLAGE OF BURNSTICK LAKE WHEREAS, Council wishes to establish a Development Authority as required by the Municipal Government Act, Chapter M-26 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000 and amendments thereto; NOW THEREFORE, Council of the Summer Village of Burnstick Lake, duly assembled, enacts as follows: 1. This bylaw may be cited as the "Development Authority Bylaw." Definitions 2. The following words and terms are defined as follows: a. "Act" means the Municipal Government Act, Chapter M-26 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, as amended; b. "Authority" means the Development Authority established pursuant to this bylaw; c. "Council" means the Council of the Summer Village of Burnstick Lake; d. "Development Officer" means the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) or a person or persons appointed by Council to the position of Development Officer; e. "Land Use Bylaw" means the Land Use Bylaw adopted by the Summer Village pursuant to the Municipal Government Act; f. "Summer Village" means the Summer Village of Burnstick Lake. Establishment of Authority 3. The Development Authority of the Summer Village is: a. The Development Officer is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) or person or persons appointed by resolution of Council as Development Officer pursuant to the Land Use Bylaw; and b. The Municipal Planning Commission established by Bylaw No. 92-2023. BYLAW 91-23 -Development Authority 20230422 Page 2 of 2 Powers and Duties 4. The Development Authority has those powers and duties as set out in the Act and any regulations made thereunder and as further set out in the Land Use Bylaw. 5. The powers and duties of the Development Authority may be exercised by any one of the individuals appointed as Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission where so set out in the Land Use Bylaw. Effective Date 6. This Bylaw shall come into force and take effect upon the date of third reading. Repeal 7. Bylaw 19-1995 is hereby repealed.
