SUMMER VILLAGE OF BURNSTICK LAKE
BYLAW 49-03
BEING A BYLAW OF THE SUMMER VILLAGE OF BURNSTICK LAKE IN THE
PROVINCE OF ALBERTA FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR
AMENDMENTS TO THE LAND USE BYLAW 8-93 DATED 11TH DAY OF MAY
1993
PURSUANT to Section 640 of the Municipal Government Act, being Chapter M-
26 RSA 200 and amendments thereto the Council of the Summer Village of
Burnstick Lake in the Province of Alberta deems it necessary to amend its land
use bylaw to restrict the type of sewage disposal system permitted within the
Summer Village of Burnstick Lake;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Summer Village of Burnstick lake in the
Province of Alberta duly assembled, hereby enacts as follows:
Add to Section 5.8 (a) and (b) as follows:
(a) Sewage disposal systems shall be restricted to on site holding tank and pump
out systems constructed in accordance with the requirements of the Alberta
Private Sewage Systems Standard of Practice 1999 and amendments thereto.
(b) Section 5.8 (a) shall apply to new building construction and replacement of
existing septic fields only. Existing septic systems, built before third reading of
this Bylaw, shall be permitted for the life of the respective septic field as long as
they pass legally mandated inspections and until they require repair or
replacement.
