BY-LAW NO. 1580
BY-LAW 1580
A By-law of Camrose County in the Province of Alberta to
authorize Camrose County to impose a local improvement tax
in respect of all lands that directly benefit from the New
Norway Wastewater Lagoon Rehabilitation local improvement
project.
WHEREAS
The Council of Camrose County has decided to issue a By-
law pursuant to Section 397 of the Municipal Government
Act to authorize a local improvement tax levy to pay for the
New Norway Wastewater Lagoon Rehabilitation local
improvement project.
A local improvement plan has been prepared and the
required notice of the project given to the benefiting owners
in accordance with the attached Schedule A and Schedule B
and no sufficient objection to the New Norway Wastewater
Lagoon Rehabilitation local improvement project has been
filed with the Municipality's Chief Administrative Officer.
The Council has decided to set a uniform tax rate based on
per parcel of land assessed against the benefiting owners.
Plans and specifications have been prepared and the total
cost of the project is estimated to be $1,636,305.18 including
engineering and carrying costs and Camrose County
estimates the following contributions will be applied to the
project:
MSI Capital
$ 457,500.48
Local Improvement Levy
$1,178,804.70
$1,636,305.18
The local improvement tax will be collected for not more than
Twenty-five (25) years and the total amount levied annually
against the benefiting owners is $47,191.28.
All required approvals for the project have been obtained
and the project is in compliance with all Acts and
Regulations of the Province of Alberta.
THEREFORE
Council of Camrose County duly assembled, enacts as
follows:
1. That for completing the New Norway Wastewater
Rehabilitation Upgrade local improvement project the
sum of ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-
EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND FOUR
DOLLARS AND SEVENTY CENTS ($1,178,804.70) be
collected by way of an annual, uniform local improvement
tax rate assessed against the benefiting owners as
provided in Schedule A and Schedule B attached.
2. The net amount levied under the By-law shall be applied
only to the local improvement project specified by this By-
law.
3. If any portion of this By-law is declared invalid by a court
of competent jurisdiction, then the invalid portion must be
severed and the remainder of the By-law is deemed
valid.

4. This By-law comes into force on the date it is passed.
5. Upon passing of this By-law, By-law 1528 is repealed.
