of the To

to provide
for the regulation
and control
of cats, within
the Town of
Claresholm.
WHEREAS
amendments
thereto,
animals
and activities
to
Section 7 of the Municipal
Government
Act, RSA 2000,
Chapter M-26
and
Council
may, pass bylaws for municipal
purposes
respecting
wild and domestic
relation
to them;
NOW
THEREFO
the Town
of Claresholm,
in the Province
of Alberta,
duly assembled
hereby enacts
the following:
Title
1.
Tbis Bylaw
y be cited as the Cat Bylaw.
Definitions
2.
In this Bylaw:
a.
"
'
Control
Officer"
means any person, firm or corporation,
appointed
by Council
to
carg
the provisions
of this Bylaw.
b.
"Cat"
C.
mean either a male or female cat over the age of three (3) months.
" means the Council
of the Town
of Claresholm.
d.
means the person who has legal title to a cat and includes
any person who has the

of the cat, or harbours
the cat, or suffers the cat to remain

Offences

A cat owner,

cats to deposit on public
property
or upon the lands or premises
of any person other than the owner,

An owner or occupant

must not allow animal feces to accumulate
on the property
so as to create a health
hazard.

notice to
all animal feces from the property
within
72 hours of service of the notice.
The
Town
may

the request is made fails to

72 hours, or after reasonable
inquiry,

occupant
of
property
cannot be determined.
If the Town carried out the work, the costs and
expenses may
added to the tax roll and form part of the taxes owing

was done.
