# Bylaws
#### Town Council is the governing body of the municipal corporation and the custodian of its legislative powers.
The *Municipal Government Act* provides that councils can only exercise the powers of the municipal corporation either by bylaw or resolution. Bylaws are created as a way to address resident concerns, protect the environment, public health and safety, and maintain the community.
The following is a selection of the Town's most requested Bylaw's.
