This document is a consolidation of the 2026 User Fees and Charges Bylaw C27-25. The consolidation has been prepared by
Legislative Services Department for the convenience of users. All amendments enacted by Council up to and including Bylaw C7-
26, passed on February 24, 2026, have been incorporated. In case of any dispute, the original 2026 User, Fees and Charges
Bylaw and amendments must be consulted.
CITY OF FORT SASKATCHEWAN
A BYLAW OF THE CITY OF FORT SASKATCHEWAN, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, TO
ESTABLISH THE 2026 USER FEES AND CHARGES FOR SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE
CITY OF FORT SASKATCHEWAN.
BYLAW C27-25
WHEREAS, the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c M-26 provides that a municipality may
pass bylaws for municipal purposes respecting services, licenses, permits, approvals, and utility
services provided by the municipality.
WHEREAS, section 8(1)(c) of the MGA allows a municipality to set fees for licenses, permits,
approvals, and utility services provided by the municipality.
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Fort Saskatchewan in the Province of Alberta,
duly assembled, hereby enacts:
1.
This Bylaw may be cited as the 2026 User Fees and Charges Bylaw.
2.
That the User Fees, Rates and Charges Manual attached as Schedule "A" to this Bylaw
represents the 2026 User Fees and Charges established by Council and are applicable to
the municipal services provided by the City of Fort Saskatchewan as outlined in the
Schedule.
3. That the City Manager is granted the authority and discretion, despite any enacted policy,
procedure, or budget, to amend user fees and charges under extraordinary circumstances,
and further that Council be notified in writing or verbally in an open session meeting of
Council.
4. That if there are any inconsistencies between the user fees, rates and charges imposed
pursuant to this Bylaw and those imposed by any other bylaw of the City of Fort
Saskatchewan, this Bylaw shall take precedence.
5. This Bylaw supersedes and takes precedence over all previously passed bylaws which refer
to C24-24, as well as any previously passed resolutions which may be in conflict with this
Bylaw.
6. This Bylaw comes into force and effect on January 1, 2026.
