## BYLAW 1265/21 TOWN OF HARDISTY PROVINCE OF ALBERTA
A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF HARDISTY IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO AMEND THE BYLAW TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATION OF STREETS AND THOROUGHFARES IN THE TOWN OF HARDISTY 1190/13
WHEREAS the Traffic Safety Act authorizes a municipality to regulate and control vehicle traffic as well as parking on streets and property within the municipality;
AND WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act allows a municipality to pass Bylaws as well as designate authority with respect to streets under its direction, control, and management
VOW THEREFORE the Council of the Town of Hardisty in the Province of Alberta enacts a Bylaw t egulate Vehicle Traffic in the Town of Hardisty as follows
AND THEREFORE, the Council of the Town of Hardisty in the Province of Alberta to Amend the 3ylaw 1190/13 to provide for "Use of Flashing Green Lights". This Bylaw may also be cited as the Town of Hardisty "Traffic Bylaw"
1. This Bylaw may be cited as "Bylaw 1265/21, amending the Town of Hardisty Bylaw 1190/13 Town of Hardisty "Traffic Bylaw" as follows:
2.1 Section 5 "Traffic Control Devices" is amended by adding Part F. "USE OF FLASHING GREEN LIGHTS".
2. Section 5 Part F. Use of Flashing Green Lights to read:
2. (a) Full-time or volunteer firefighters may carry, on or in a vehicle, other than an emergency vehicle, a lamp that produces intermittent flashes of green light and may operate the lamp if the vehicle is proceeding to a fire or other emergency.
3. (b) No person other than a full-time or volunteer firefighter shall operate a lamp that produces intermittent flashes of green light.
4. (c) Nothing in this section shall be construed as to permit a full-time or volunteer firefighter to operate a vehicle in contravention of the Traffic Safety Act, Provincial regulations, or this Bylaw.
3. If any portion of this Bylaw is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalid portion shall be severed, and the remainder of the Bylaw is deemed valid.
4. This Bylaw becomes effective on the date it is signed and passed.
