## BYLAW 502-16 VILLAGE OF HUSSAR
## A BYLAW OF THE VILLAGE OF HUSSAR, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, TO SET SPEED LIMITS ON ROADS AND LANES WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL BOUNADARIES OF THE VILLAGE OF HUSSAR.
| WHEREAS | The Traffic Safety Act. RSA 2000 Chapter T-6, as amended. (the "Act") grants a municipality the authority to prescribe the maximum or minimum speeds ofall or any part of any roadway within the municipality; and |
|---------------|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| WHEREAS | in accordance with the Act, Council finds it desirable to pass a bylaw pursuant to the Act; |
| NOW THEREFORE | the Municipal Council of the Village of Hussar, duly assembled, hereby enacts as follows: |
## 1) TITLE
- 1.1 This Bylaw may be cited as the Speed Limit Bylaw:
## 2) APPLICATION
- 2.1 The maximum speed on all roadways in the Village of Hussar shall be 40 kilometers per hour except as listed below and illustrated on Schedule A of this Bylaw:
- a) The maximum speed in the Hussar Campground shall be 15 kilometers per hour:
- b) The maximum speed in all back lanes shall be 15 kilometers per hour, and
- c) The maximum speed in school and playground zones, as marked by traffic control signs, shall be 30 kilometers per hour.
## 3) INTERPRETATION
- 3.1 All maximum speed limits apply to travel in each direction on the roadway described..
- 3.2 If there is an inconsistency between Section 2 of this Bylaw and Schedule A, Section 2 will prevail.
## 4) SEVERABILITY
- 4.T If, at any time, any provision of this Bylaw is declared or held to be invalid. illegal or ultra vires, in whole or in part, then that provision shall not apply and the remainder of this Bylaw shall continue in full force and effect and shall be construed as if it had been enacted without the invalid, illegal or ultra vires provision.
## 5) REPEAL
- 5.1 Upon this Bylaw coming into full force and effect, Bylaw 220 of the Village of Hussar is repealed.
## 6) ENACTMENT
- 6.1 This Bylaw shall come into full force and effect upon receiving third and final reading in Council and is duly signed.
Read a first time this 28 day of January, 2016.
Read a second time this 28 day of January, 2016.
Council moved to proceed with all three readings of this bylaw in one meeting.
Read a third and final time this 28 day of January, 2016.
