cao@villageoflomond.ca March 27,2025 403-792-3611 Bylaw No 509 Water and Sewer Regulation Public Notice As of March 27, 2025 the Village and Council will be implementing the Water and Sewer Regulation standards. Please see below a short summary that will come into eƯect May 1st on unpaid utility accounts. A Bylaw of the Council of the Village of Lomond, in the Province of Alberta, to regulate the use of the Water and Sewer works system, set applicable charges for various fees and rates to be charged and set regulations for meter rentals, renter user fees and utility billings. WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act R.S.A. 2000, c. M-26 authorizes Village of Lomond Council to pass bylaws for municipal purposes respecting public utilities, services, facilities, and other things that are necessary or desirable: AND WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act authorizes Village of Lomond Council to establish the terms for the provision of public Utility Services; AND WHEREAS Village of Lomond Council has determined that provision of Water and Wastewater public utilities by Vulcan County is desirable; NOW THEREFORE the Council of Village of Lomond, in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled enacts as follows All billings shall be due and payable within 30 days. A penalty of $1.00 shall be levied on all unpaid accounts of $50.00 or less per month. A penalty of 2% interest shall be charged to all unpaid accounts of $50.00 or more per month. If after 30 days, an account remains unpaid, a warning shall be issued with the next billing stating that the water will be turned oƯ if payment is not received within 30 days of the date of that billing. If payment is not received within the stated period, the water services shall be turned oƯ by an employee of the Municipality. If payment is made by cheque which is N.S.F.. the service will be terminated again, until payment is received by way of certificated cheque, cash, card, or e-transfer. Any service terminated due to failure to pay will be charged with a $10.00 turn on charge each and every time the service is terminated and reconnected.
