BYLAW NO. 01-21 SUMMER VILLAGE OF MEWATHA BEACH Page 1 of 2 BYLAW 01-21 A BYLAW OF THE SUMMER VILLAGE OF MEWATHA BEACH, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, FOR THE PUPOSE OF PROVIDING FOR THE ALLOWANCE OF A DISCOUNT ON CURRENT TAXES. WHEREAS under the Authority of the Municipal Government Act RSA 2000 Chapter M-26, 339 authorizes Council to pass a bylaw providing incentives for payment of taxes by the dates set out in the bylaw. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the Summer Village of Mewatha Beach in the Province of Alberta duly assembled, enacts as follows: 1. Pre-payment shall include all current property taxes, excepting local improvement taxes. 2. That discounts as set out below be granted to ratepayers who prepay their current year taxes on or before the deadlines set out hereunder. 2% on payments received on or before the last day of January 3. Pre-payment to be accompanied by sufficient information to properly identify the property against which it is to be applied. 4. Pre-payment shall not exceed the amount of the previous year's taxes. 5. Pre-payment of taxes is not permitted for other than the current year, and the discount is not applicable to Local Improvement Taxes, Tax Arrears or Penalties nor Maintenance Taxes. 6. This bylaw shall have effect from the date of 3rd reading thereof, and shall remain in effect unless rescinded or amended by bylaw. 7. Bylaw 86/93 is hereby rescinded.
