VILLAGE OF MORRIN 2025 PROPERTY TAX BYLAW BYLAW 398 A BYLAW TO AUTHORIZE THE RATES OF TAXATION TO BE LEVIED AGAINST ASSESSABLE PROPERTY WITHTN THE VILLAGE OF MORRIN FOR THEaOa4TAXATION YEAR. WHEREAS, the Village of Morrin has prepared and adopted detailed estimates of municipal revenue, expenses and expenditures as required, at the Council meeting held on May 25, 2025; and WHEREAS, the estimated municipal revenues from all sources other than property taxation total s430,920. and WHEREAS, the estimated municipal expenses (excluding non-cash and requisition items) set out in the annual budget for the Village of Morrin of 2025 total 5660,920. and WHEREAS, the estimated amount transferred from restricted surplus accounts for operations is S0 and WHEREAS, the estimated amount transferred to restricted surplus accounts for future financial plans to be raised by municipal taxation is S15,000; and WHEREAS, the estimated amount required for current year capital expenditures to be raised by municipal taxation is S5,000.00 THEREFORE the total amount to be raised by general municipal taxation is $230,000.. and WHEREAS, the requisitions are: Alberta School Foundation Fund Residential & Farmland 2025 Requisition 539,t1t. Under Levv Non-residential 2025 Requisition ss,360. Under Levy Total Alberta School Foundation Fund 544,53L. Drumheller District Seniors Foundation Si.0,2i.5. WHEREAS, the Council is authorized to sub-classify assessed property, and to establish different tax rates of taxation in respect to each sub-class of property subject to the Municipal Government Act, Chapter M-26, Revised Statutes of Alberta, 2000; and 2025Tax Rate Bylaw Village of Morrin WHEREAS, the assessed value of all taxable property in the Village of Morrin as shown on the assessment roll is: Residential Si.5,135,i-60. Farmland 57,700. Commercial S580,690. Electric, Power & Pipeline S780,670. Total Taxable Assessment 5L6,504,220. NOW THEREFORE under the authority of the Municipol Government Act, the Council of the Village of Morrin, in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, enacts as follows: 1. The minimum amount payable per parcel as property tax for general municipal purposes shall be 5800.00 2.2. Exemptions from the minimum municipal tax are mobile license fee properties and farmland. 3. Late Payment Penalties 3.1. Councilauthorizes, underthe authorityof the MunicipolGovernmentAct, Section344, a penalty of twelve percent (12%l to be applied on AugustL,2025 on all current taxes remaining unpaid after July 3t,2025. 2025Tax Rate Bylaw Village of Morrin 3.2. Council authorizes, under the authority of the Municipol Governmenf Act, Section345, a penalty of fifteen percent (LS%I to be applied on all outstanding taxes and related penalties and costs that remain unpaid after December 31, 2025 and shall be added on the first working day of January 2026. 4, Effective Date This bylaw shall take effect on the date of the third and final reading and has been signed in accordance the Municipol Government Act.
