BYLAW 2024-21 BEING A BYLAW OF THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF LESSER SLAVE RIVER NO. 124 IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO ESTABLISH AN INTERMUNICIPAL SUBDIVISION AND DEVELOPMENT APPEAL BOARD WITH BIG LAKES COUNTY, THE TOWN OF HIGH PRAIRIE, THE TOWN OF SLAVE LAKE AND THE TOWN OF SWAN HILLS WHEREAS, Section 327 of the Municipal Government Act authorizes a municipality to enter into an agreement with one or more municipalities to establish an intermunicipal subdivision and development appeal board; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River No. 124, deems it beneficial to establish an intermunicipal subdivision and development appeal board to hear subdivision and development appeals; NOW THEREFORE the Council of Municipal District of Lesser Slave River No. 124 in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, hereby enacts the following: 1. This Bylaw may be cited as the "Slake Lake Regional Subdivision and Development Appeal Board Bylaw". 2. The Municipal District of Lesser Slave River No. 124 is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement between Big Lakes County, the Town of High Prairie, the Town of Slave Lake and the Town of Swan Hills (the "Municipalities") to provide for the following: (a) the hearing of subdivision appeals and development appeals arising within the boundaries of the Municipalities; (b) the procedure and conduct of the Slave Lake Regional Subdivision and Development Appeal Board and its members; and (c) the functions and duties of the Slave Lake Regional Subdivision and Development Appeal Board. 3. The position of Clerk is established for the purpose of carrying out the powers, duties and functions of the clerk in accordance with the Municipal Government Act and the Slave Lake Regional Subdivision and Development Appeal Board agreement. 4. Bylaw 2018-06 is repealed and replaced. 5. This Bylaw becomes effective on the date it is signed and passed.
