## Bylaw No. 102-2024 ## Speed Limit Bylaw A bylaw of the Summer Village of Pelican Narrows, in the Province of Alberta, to regulate the speed limit of vehicles within the boundaries of the Summer Village. WHEREAS the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, C.M.26, as amended, and the Traffic Safety Act, R.S.A. 2000, Chapter T-6, as amended, provide that a municipality may enact bylaws to regulate the maximum speed of vehicle traffic on all highways within an urban municipality. AND WHEREAS the Council of the Summer Village of Pelican Narrows deems it necessary and convenient to enact a bylaw regulating the maximum speed of vehicle traffic on all highways and other areas within the boundaries of the Summer Village. NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the Summer Village of Pelican Narrows, duly assembled, enacts as follows: 1. This bylaw shall be cited as the Summer Village of Pelican Narrows's "Speed Limit Bylaw"; 2. The maximum speed on all highways within the Summer Village of Pelican Narrows is 50 kilometers per hour unless otherwise posted. 3. Every person who contravenes a section of this bylaw is guilty of an offence and shall forfeit and pay a fine pursuant to either Part I! or Part I!! of the Provincial Offences Procedure Act, R.S.A. 2000, Chapter P-34, as amended and regulations thereunder. 4. Should any provision of this bylaw be invalid, then such provision shall be severed and the remaining bylaw shall be maintained.
