Town of Smoky Lake
BYLAW NO. 16-2025
OF THE TOWN OF SMOKY LAKE
IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA
A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF SMOKY LAKE, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CLOSING PUBLIC TRAVEL AND DISPOSING OF A PORTION OF A PUBLIC HIGHWAY IN ACCORDANCE
WITH SECTION 22 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT, CHAPTER M-26, REVISED STATUTES OF
ALBERTA 2000, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS the lands hereafter described are no longer required for public travel, and
AND WHEREAS, application has been made to Council to have the highway closed, and
AND WHEREAS, the Council for the Town of Smoky Lake deems it expedient to provide for a bylaw for the
purpose of closing to public travel certain roads, or portions thereof, situated in the said municipality, and therefore
disposing of same, and
AND WHEREAS, notice of intention of the Council for the Town of Smoky Lake to pass a bylaw has been given
in accordance with Section 606 of the Municipal Government Act, and
AND WHEREAS, Council was not petitioned for an opportunity to be heard by a person claiming to be prejudicially
affected by the Bylaw,
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Town of Smoky Lake, in the Province of Alberta does hereby close to
public travel for the purpose of disposing of the following described road, subject to rights of access granted by
other legislation:

EXCEPTING THEREOUT ALL MINES AND MINERALS

As identified on Schedule "A", attached hereto and forming part of this bylaw.

EFFECTIVE DATE
This Bylaw shall come into force and effect on third and final reading.
READ a FIRST time this 14th Day of July 2025.
