## VILLAGE OF STANDARD PROVINCE OF ALBERTA BY-LAW 5-2018
A BYLAW OF THE VILLAGE OF STANDARD, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, TO PROVIDE FOR THE AMENDMENT OF LAND USE BYLAW No. 02-2012;
AND WHEREAS the Council deems it desirable to amend Land Use Bylaw 022012:
NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL HEREBY AMENDS LAND USE BYLAW No. 02-2012 as follows:
## 1. BYLAW TITLE
- 1.1 This bylaw shall be known as the "Cannabis Land Use Amendments bylaw".
## 2. GENERAL
- 2.1 In Part 2, Section 2.3, Definitions, immediately following the definition for "Campground", add the following definitions:
"Cannabis" means cannabis plant, fresh cannabis, dried cannabis, cannabis oil and cannabis plant seeds and any other substance defined as cannabis in the Cannabis Act (Canada) and its regulations, as amended from time to time and includes edible products that contain cannabis.
"Cannabis Accessory" means cannabis accessory as defined in the Cannabis Act (Canada) and its regulations, as amended from time to time.
"Cannabis Retail Sales" means a retail store licensed by the Province of Alberta where Cannabis and Cannabis Accessories are sold to individuals who attend the premises.
- 2.2 In Part 2, Section 2.3, Definitions, within the definition for "Retail Store", add the following to the end of the sentence:
"This definition does not include Cannabis Retail Sales"
- 2.3 In Part 8, Land Use Districts, add "Cannabis Retail Sales" in the appropriate alphabetical location to the following districts as a Discretionary Use
- CB Central Business District
- : HWY-C Highti Distinercial District Industrial District
- 2.4 In Part 7, General Rules, following Section 7.23. "Alternative Energy Systems", add the following section:
## "7.24. Cannabis Retail Sales
- 1) A Cannabis Retail Sales establishment shall comply with all provincial requirements.
- 2) A Cannabis Retail Sales establishment shall meet the provincial requirements for minimum separation distances from Schools, a Municipal School Reserve parcel, a School Reserve parcel and Provincial Healt are Facilities
3. Despite Section 7.24. (1) to (2), no separation distance is required between a Cannabis Retail Sales establishment and a home education program.
## 3. ENACTMENT
- 3.1 This Bylaw shall take effect as of the date of final reading thereof.
