STETTLER. BEING A BYLAW TO ESTABLISH THE MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF WHEREAS The Planning Act, 1980, Revised Statutes of Alberta, 1980, and amendments thereto authorize the Council of a Municipality to enact a establishing a Municipal Planning Commission. NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Town of Stettler, in the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1. SHORT TITLE This Bylaw may be cited as "The Municipal Planning Commission Bylaw." 2. DEFINITIONS In this "Bylaw", "Council" means the Council of the Town of Stettler; "Development Officer" means a person appointed as a Development Officer pursuant to the Town of Stettler, Land Use Bylaw, "Municipality" means the Town of Stettler. 3. ESTABLISHMENT AND ADMINISTRATION Town of Stettler, hereinafter called A commission to be known as The Municipal Planning Commission of the "The Municipal Planning Commission" is hereby established. The Municipal Planning Commission shall be composed of five members appointed by resolution of Council. No person who is a Development Officer or a member of a Development Appeal Board shall be appointed to act as a member of The Municipal Planning Commission. Town of Stettler Council shall appoint a Chairman and the Chairman and Vice-Chairman both be absent from a meeting, Vice-Chairman to the Municipal Planning Commission annually. Municipal Planning Commission may appoint a Chairman for meeting only. 3.6 Each member Of The Municipal Planning Commission shall be appointed for one (1) year, and may be reappointed upon expiry of this term. Any vacancy caused by the death, retirement or resignation of a member may be filled by resolution of the Council. Three (3) members of The Municipal Planning Commission shall constitute a guorum for the making of all decisions and for doing any action required or permitted to be done by the Chairman.
