## THORHILD COUNTY BYLAW NO. 1207-2015 A BYLAW OF THE THORHILD COUNTY IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO ESTABLISH THE POSITION OF CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER OF THORHILD COUNTY WHEREAS Section 205 of the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, C M-26 as amended ("the Act") indicates that a Municipal Council must establish by bylaw; NOW THEREFORE the Council of Thorhild County, duly assembled, enacts as follows: - Name - 1.1. This Bylaw may be cited as the "Chief Administrative Officer" bylaw. ## Definitions The following words and phrases mean: - 2.1. "Act" means the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, as amended. - 22 "Chief Administrator Officer" shall be the the Chief Administration Officer (CAO), of Thorhild County as appointed by Council. - "Council" means the Reeve and Councilors of the Thorhild County for the time being elected pursuant to the provisions of the Act, whose term is unexpired, who have not resigned and who continue to be eligible to hold office as such under the terms of the Act. - 2.4 "County" means Thorhild County - Council hereby establishes the position of Chief Administrative Officer, with the title of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). 4. The CAO has all the powers, duties and functions given to the Chief Administrative Officer under the Act and any other legislation. 5. Except where expressly prohibited by legislation or a direction of Council, the CAO has Authority to delegate and to authorize further delegation to any employee of the County of any power, duty or function given to the CAO. 6. Nothwithstanding any delegation, the CAO is accountable to Council for the exercise of all powers, duties and functions. 7.
