TOWN OF THREE HILLS
BYLAW NO: 1458-20
A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF THREE HILLS IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO
REGULATE AND CONTROL THE USE AND DEVELOPMENT OF LAND AND
BUILDINGS IN THE TOWN OF THREE HILLS
the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, Chapter M-26 and
amendments thereto authorize the Council of a Municipality to enact a
Land Use Bylaw to prohibit, regulate, or control the use and
development of land and buildings in a Municipality.
WHEREAS
the Municipal Council of the Town of Three Hills, in the Province of
Alberta duly assembled in accordance with Part 17 of the Municipal
Government Act enacts as follows:
NOW THEREFORE
This Bylaw may be cited as the "Town of Three Hills Land Use Bylaw".
The Town of Three Hills Land Use Bylaw as attached to and forming a part of this Bylaw is
hereby adopted;
The purpose of this Bylaw is to regulate and control the use and development of land and
biHldings within the Town of Three Hills to achieve the orderly and economic development of
land, and;

to divide the municipality into districts;
to prescribe and regulate for each District the purposes for which land and
buildings may be used;
to establish the office of the Development Officer;
to establish a method of making decisions on applications for subdivision and
development permits Including the issuance of development permits;
to provide the manner in which notice of the issuance of a development permit
is given; and
to establish the number of dwelling units permitted on a parcel of land.
The Bylaw shall be applied in a way that enables the implementation of the plans and studies
that have been adopted by the Town Council, and is consistent with the Town of Three Hills
Municipal Development Plan and Integrated Sustainability Plan.

No development shall occur within the Town except in accordance with this Bylaw.

Land Use Bylaw 1398-17 and subsequent amendments thereto are hereby rescinded;

This Bylaw shall come into force and effect upon the date of the passing of the third and final
reading and signing thereof.
