TOWN OF VERMILION BYLAW NO: 04-2026 BEING A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF VERMILION EN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA FOR THE PURPOSE OF AUTHORIZING THE RATES OF TAXATION TO BE LEVIED AGAINST THE ASSESSABLE PROPERTY FOR THE 2026 TAX WHEREAS, the Comncil of the Town of Vermilion deems it necessary to establish a Bylaw o deal with services provided by or on behalf of the municipality; and WHEREAS, Under the provision of Sections 353 and 354 of the Municipal Government Act, Council must pass a pre x bylaw to pre authorization to levy on the assessed value of all assessed property shown on the assessment roll, a tax at the unitorni rate on the dollar that Council considers sufficient to produce the funds necessary to meet the amount of the expenditures as are estimated by Council or as are annually requisitioned on Council: and i {irereas, the Town ofVermilion has prepared and adopted budgets of municipal revenue and expenditures at die November 18, 2025 Regular Council Meeting; and WHEREAS, the estimated municipal expenditures and transfers set out in the budget for the Town of Vermilion for 2026 total $13,732,941.00 (excluding amortization); and WHEREAS, the estimated municipal revenues and transfers from all sources other than taxation are estimated at $4, 746,295.00 and the balance of $8,986 646.00 is to be raised by general municipal taxation: and WHEREAS, the total taxation requirements of the Town of Vermilion for the 2026 taxation year are as follows: General Municipal 4,389,013 Alberta School Foundation Fund (ASFF) 1,769,338 Separate Schoo] Division 212,664 Designated Industrial Property ; 1,594 Seniors' Foundation 307,857 Vermilion Public Library 275,800 Reercation & Culture 9,030,386 Total Taxation Requirements 8,986,646 1c of all taxable property, including land, buildings and improv ts in che Town of Vermilion as shown on the assessmient roll is: Residential & Farmland Non-Residential Machinery & Equipment Lincar ' 21,165,490 Designated Industrial Properties 7235 490 634,830,910 WHEREAS, the rates hereinafter set out are deemed necessary to provide the amount required for all purposes for the 2026 taxation vear.
