A BYLAW TO AUTHORIZE THE RATES OF TAXATION TO BE LEVIED AGAINST ASSESSABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF VETERAN IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA FOR THE 2026 TAXATION YEAR. WHEREAS, The Village of Veteran has prepared and adopted detailed estimates of municipal revenue and expenditures as required, at the council meeting held on April 21, 2026, and WHEREAS, the estimated municipal expenditures and transfers set out in the budget for the Village of Veteran for 2026 total $752,101 and WHEREAS, the estimated municipal revenues and transfers from all sources other than taxation is estimated at $562,147 and a balance of $189,954 is to be raised by general municipal taxation; and WHEREAS, the 2026 requisitions are: Alberta School Foundation (ASFF) Residential/Farmland $30,014.50 Non-Residential $10,471.35 Machinery & Equipment 0 Acadia Seniors Foundation $4,754.00 Total $45,239.85 WHEREAS, the council is authorized to classify assessed property , and to establish different rates of taxation in repsect to each class of property, subject to the Municipal Government Act, Chapter M-26, Revised Statutes of Alberta, 2000; and WHEREAS, the assessed value of all property in the Village of Veteran as shown on the assessment roll is: Assessment Residential (1-3) 10,478,750 Non-Residential (11-14,15-16,22,31,33,41,43) 2,781,300 Farmland (5) 2,640 Seniors Foundation - Machinery & Equipment (21) 18,080 Total 13,280,770 NOW THEREFORE under the authority of the Municipal Government Act, the council of the Village of Veteran in the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1. That the Chief Administrative Officer is hereby authorized to levy the following rates of taxation on the assessed value of all property as shown on the assessment roll of the Village of Veteran: General Municipal Tax Levy Assessment Tax Rate Residential & Farmland 118,911.20 $ 10,481,390 11.345 Non-Residential + M & E $71,042.80 2,799,380 25.378 Totals 189,954.00 $ 13,280,770 Alberta School Foundation Fund (ASFF) Residential/Farmland $30,014.50 10,481,390 2.795 Non-Residential $10,471.35 2,324,550 4.125 Alberta School Foundation Fund (ASFF) Total Acadia Seniors Foundation $4,754.00 13,280,770 0.3580 Total 45,239.85 $ Total Tax Rate for Desginated Industrial Property for 2026 0.0728 Total Tax Rate for Residential/Farmland Property for 2026 14.498 Total Tax Rate for Non-Residential Property for 2026 29.861 Total Tax Rate for Machinery & Equipment for 2026 25.736 2.
