BY-LAW NO. 393
TOWN OF VIKING
A BY-LAW OF THE TOWN OF VIKING, PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING
OCCUPATIONS.
AND REGULATING OF CERTAIN BUSINESSES, CALLINGS, TRADES AND
WHEREAS, by virtue of the power conferred on it by the Municipal Government Act, the Council of the Town of Viking, duly assembled,
enacts as follows:
Short Title and Definitions
This By-law shall be known and may be cited as the "Licensing
By-law" of the Town of Viking.
In this By-law, unless context otherwise requires:
(a) PERSON - includes a Corporation or Partnership.
(b) HAWKER OR PEDDLER:
- (1) Means a person not being a body corporate and who,
whether as principal or agent
- (A) goes from house to house selling or offering sale any merchandise to any person, and who is not
- a wholesale or retail dealer in such merchandise with a permanent place of business in the Town of Viking; (B) offers or exposes for sale to any person by means of samples, patterns, cuts, or blueprints, merchandise

(2) fish
(c) TRADESMAN - shall mean any person who undertakes as principal

(d) GENERAL CONTRACTOR - shall mean and include any person,

- takes as principal contractor in the Town of Viking to provide or carry on trades or occupations relative to the construction industry. SUB-CONTRACTOR - shall mean the same as above by deleting the word principal.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
1. No person shall, within the limits of the Town of Viking,
carry on,
or be engaged in any business, unless he has paid
- the prescribed fee as set out in Schedule "A", which forms part of this By-law, and holds a valid and subsisting license, issued pursuant to the provisions of this By-law. Every sub-contractor who is performing under or employed by a principal contractor shall obtain a business license. It
