THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF FERNIE Sewer Connection and User Charge Bylaw No. 2543, 2025 Amendment to Bylaw No. 1593 A bylaw to amend the City of Fernie Sewer Connection and User Charge Bylaw No. 1593 WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the City of Fernie may impose fees with respect to all or part of a service of the municipality; AND WHEREAS it is desirous to amend Sewer Connection and User Charge Bylaw No. 1593; NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the City of Fernie, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. This Bylaw may be cited as "Sewer Connection and User Charge Bylaw No. 1593, Amendment Bylaw No. 2543, 2025" 2. Sewer Connection and User Charge Bylaw No. 1593, as amended, is hereby further amended by: (a) Deleting Schedule "A" and inserting revised Schedule "A" Sewer User Charges, attached to and forming part of this bylaw; (b) Deleting Section 7 "Billing" and inserting revised Section 7 "Billing" attached to and forming part of this bylaw. READ A FIRST TIME this 13th day of January, 2026. READ A SECOND TIME this 13th day of January, 2026. READ A THIRD TIME this 13th day of January, 2026. ADOPTED this 27th day of January, 2026. Mayor Corporate Officer I hereby certify the foregoing to be the original Bylaw No. 2543, 2025 SCHEDULE "A" Sewer User Charges (Amended by Bylaw 2543) Fees Increase Schedule The Sewer User Charge shall increase for the 2026 based on the 2026-2030 Five Year Financial Plan as follows: CLASSIFICATION OF USE Sewer User Charges Per Month Effective January 1, 2026 (1) Single Family Dwellings $47.66 per dwelling unit (2) Duplexes, Fourplexes, Apartments, Townhouses, Condominiums, Suites & Multi-Family Dwellings $47.66 per dwelling unit (3) Mobile Homes/Trailers (in Mobile Home Subdivisions or Parks) $47.66 per dwelling unit (4) Rooming and Boarding Houses $59.44 minimum plus $2.57 per bedroom (5) Hotels and Motels $14.69 per room (6) Cafes, Restaurants, Cocktail Lounges $3.39 per seat (7) Garages and Service Stations $39.05 per washroom (8) Car Washes $90.08 per stall (9) Stores, Business Premises, Offices $39.05 per washroom (10) Barber Shops and Beauty Parlours $39.05 per chair (maximum 2 chairs) (11) Dental office $47.66 per chair (12) Health Clinics $78.03 per clinic (13) Laundromats $18.63 per washer (14) Dry Cleaners $98.48 per washer plus $39.05 per washroom (15) Theatres $39.05 per washroom (16) Court Houses, Banks, Post Office $59.44 (17) Hall (non-rental) $39.05 (18) Dance and Rental Halls/Banquet Rooms $74.65 (19) Hospitals $29.01 per bed (20) Schools $29.01 per classroom (21) Swimming Pools $96.51 per pool (22) Campground $14.69 per campground space BILLING 7. The monthly rates will be billed quarterly. A 5% penalty shall be applied to unpaid balances on the account after the due date for each quarterly bill.
