VILLAGE OF GOLD RIVER Bylaw No. 407 A bylaw to regulate the sale and exploding of firecrackers and prohibit the discharge of firearms. In this bylaw, unless the context otherwise requires the following words shall have the meaning: a. "Fireworks" - includes cannon crackers, fireballs, fire crackers, mines, Roman candles, sky rockets, squibs, torpedoes and any other explosive designated as a firework by regulation. b. "Firearms II includes any gun using, as a propellant, compressed air, explosives or gas. The "Fireworks Act II RSBC 1979, Chapter 135 applies within the Municipality of Gold River. A person shall not, except between October 24 and November 1 in any year, sell, give, fire or set off fireworks. The Fire Commissioner may designate fireworks that may not be sold to a minor without the written permission of his parent or guardian. Fireworks may be sold to and discharged by a per son or organization at a public display if the public display is held with the written permission of the Fire Commissioner or any of his local assistants having jurisdiction in the Village of Gold River. A person shall not discharge any firearm within the Municipal boundaries of the Village of Gold River. A person who contravenes this bylaw by doing an act that it forbids, or omitting to do an act that it requires to be done, commits an offense and is liable on conviction to a penalty not exceeding Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) with each offense. - - - I 2 8. 9.
