# Bylaws & Policies
The City of Langley has a number of policies and bylaws that have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of our residents and the protection of the environment. All of which, make our city The Place to Be to live, work and play.
Langley City is a community of inclusive neighbourhoods where residents do their part to contribute to our outstanding quality of life. Bylaws support public safety and community harmony and provide the tools to do this and help shape how our community lives. Policies are a governing framework adopted by City Council to guide City operations to promote transparency, accountability, and responsible government.
