VILLAGE OF LIONS BAY
BYLAW NO. 332
PARCEL TAX ASSESSMENT ROLL
A bylaw to provide for the preparation of a parcel tax assessment roll under the provisions of
Section 360.1 of the Local Government Act.
WHEREAS the council of the Village of Lions Bay is empowered by the Local Government Act to
impose a parcel tax to provide all or part of the funding for a service;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed desirable and expedient to provide for the preparation of a parcel tax
assessment roll for each parcel of land within the municipality capable of being connected to the
Brunswick Beach water system:
1.
In this bylaw, unless the context otherwise requires:
"Collector" means the designated municipal officer assigned responsibility as collector of
taxes for the municipality;
"Municipality" means the Village of Lions Bay.
2. The Collector shall prepare a parcel tax assessment roll for the Brunswick Beach water
system.
3. The Collector shall set down on the parcel tax assessment roll for each parcel of land assessed
within the Municipality capable of being connected to the Brunswick Beach water system:
the name and address of the owner, and a description of the property.
4. If requested by an owner, the Collector will amend the assessment roll that is to be available
for public inspection by omitting the address of the owner.
5. A parcel tax imposed using the Brunswick Beach Water System Parcel Tax Assessment Roll
will be imposed on the basis of a single amount for each parcel.
6. This bylaw may be cited as "Brunswick Beach Water System Parcel Tax Assessment Roll
Bylaw No. 332, 2002"
