THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF LUMBY
BYLAW No. 912, 2025
A BYLAW TO AMEND WATER RATES AND REGULATIONS
WHEREAS it is expedient that provision should be made for regulating the rates for water
supplied by the Village to its habitants,
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Village of Lumby, in open meeting assembled,
enacts as follows:
1. That the "Lumby Water Rates and Regulations Bylaw No. 700, 2009" be amended as
follows:
(a) That Schedule "B" be deleted; and,
(b) That the attached Schedule "B" be inserted.
2. That this bylaw be cited for all purposes as the "Lumby Water Rates and Regulations
Amendment Bylaw No. 912, 2025".
3. That the effective date of Lumby Water Rates and Regulations Amendment Bylaw No.
912, 2025, shall take effect January 1, 2026.

SCHEDULE "B" WATER RATES AND FEES
I. CONNECTION FEES
3/4" - 2" $1,500.00 plus cost of pavement and sidewalk cut repairs
Greater than 2" $2,000.00 plus cost of pavement and sidewalk cut repairs
II. METERED RATES - MONTHLY ($) will be analyzed and reviewed annually.
For each service which means a single residential dwelling, mobile home, rental suite, in-
law suite, school classroom, strata unit or plumbed residential or agricultural out building
or other plumbed buildings, including but not limited to commercial, institutional and
industrial building, excluding bona fide agricultural use or bona fide agricultural stock
watering the base amount is $21.33 per month.
Except that:
- Seasonal meters shall be invoiced at 50% of the monthly Base rate. A seasonal meter
includes installations in facilities such as park irrigation, public arenas, public
swimming pools, campgrounds, museums, private irrigation, and motel or hotel units.
- Multi-family complexes of over 6 units shall be invoiced at 75% of the monthly base
rate. A multi-family complex includes apartment buildings, senior housing facilities
and manufactured home parks.
- For areas outside the municipal boundaries or where metering is not possible as
determined by the Village, the above listed rates are multiplied by 5.
- Unmetered fee where metering is possible, added to base fee $50.00 per month for
the first to third month increasing by $50.00 per month for each 3 month period
thereafter.
Plus, a consumption fee of $1.09 per cubic meter except that the consumption fee for
pubs, lounges, hotel restaurants, industrial food production facilities and kiln operations
shall be $0.82 per cubic meter.
*Except where specified, all rates apply whether occupied or not, whether operating or
not and more than one category may apply to a premise.
