CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF NEW WESTMINSTER ANVIL THEATRE FEES AND RATES BYLAW NO. 8209, 2020 (Adopted July 13, 2020) This is a consolidation of the bylaws listed below. The amendment bylaws have been combined with the original bylaw for convenience only. This consolidation is not a legal document. Certified copies of the original bylaws should be consulted for all interpretations and applications of the bylaws on this subject. The number of any amending bylaw that has been repealed is not referred to in this consolidation. Obtainable from the Legislative Services Department CONSOLIDATED FOR CONVENIENCE ONLY (October 18, 2024) CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF NEW WESTMINSTER BYLAW NO. 8209, 2020 A Bylaw to establish fees and rates for services. WHEREAS the council of The Corporation of the City of New Westminster deems it expedient to provide for fees and rates for services; AND WHEREAS Section 194 of the Community Charter authorizes municipalities by bylaw to impose fees in respect of a service of the municipality or provision of information; AND WHEREAS Council deems it necessary and desirable to exercise the authority provided by the Community Charter to cover costs of providing services; NOW THEREFORE, the CITY COUNCIL of the Corporation of the City of New Westminster in open meeting assembled ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as "Anvil Theatre Fees and Rates Bylaw No. 8209, 2020." 2. The City hereby adopts Appendix A attached to this Bylaw as "Anvil Theatre Fees and Rates Bylaw No. 8209, 2020." Same day bookings, longer than 8 hours, will be charged at 1/8th of the appropriate rental fee for up to four hours. The Manager, Community Arts & Theatre, accountable to the CAO, is authorized to develop and implement scaled rental fees in support of the advancement of the Arts Strategy, Theatre Strategy and in alignment with the City's DIEAR Framework and commitment to Truth and Reconciliation. Staffing Charges All theatre rentals require theatre technical staff throughout the rental term. The number and level of technical staff are determined by Theatre operator and associated costs are additional to space rental fees and identified on the Rental Agreement. Non-technical staff may be required to accommodate rental needs for safety, customer enjoyment and performance needs. Theatre staff and/or Anvil Theatre Management will determine non-technical staffing needs. Additional staff and related charges will be identified on the Rental Agreement.
