The number of any amending bylaw that has been repealed is not referred to in this consolidation. Document: 60491 THE CORPORATION OF THE DISTRICT OF NORTH VANCOUVER BYLAW 5679 A bylaw to provide for the removal of dangerous trees pursuant to section 935 of the Municipal Act. The Council for The Corporation of the District of North Vancouver enacts the following: TITLE 1.This bylaw may be cited as "DANGEROUS TREES BYLAW". COMPLAINTS 2.The Director of Engineering Services may investigate any complaint or report received in regard to trees, shrubs, hedges or bushes growing or standing adjacent to a highway which are alleged to be dangerous or where it is alleged that the safety or convenience of the public requires that they be removed, cut down or trimmed and, if the complaint is substantiated, shall report his findings to the Council. POWER TO REMOVE DANGEROUS TREES 3.If Council concurs with the report submitted pursuant to section 2 hereof, the Director of Engineering Services is authorized to remove, cut down or trim any trees, shrubs, hedges or bushes growing or standing on land adjacent to a highway which are considered dangerous to the safety or convenience of the public, or injurious to the road bed, sidewalks or works, at the expense of the owners or occupiers of land on which the said trees, shrubs, hedges or bushes stand. NOTICE TO OWNERS/OCCUPIERS 4.The removal, cutting down or trimming of dangerous trees, shrubs, hedges or bushes shall not be effected until notice has been duly given to the owner/occupier pursuant to section 935 of the Municipal Act. REPEAL 5."The Dangerous Trees Bylaw 1914" (Bylaw 311) is repealed.
