## BYLAW NO. 3152
A Bylaw to regulate the use of power saws on or near beaches
WHEREAS in the opinion of the Municipal Council the operation of power saws tends to disturb the peace, quiet, rest, enjoyment, comfort and convenience of individuals and the public;
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the District of Oak Bay, in open meeting assembled, hereby enacts as follows:
- 1 The term "power saw" in this Bylaw shall mean any saw operated otherwise than by muscular power.
- 2 No power saws shall be operated on Sundays, upon any beach in The Corporation of the District of Oak Bay, or in the immediate vicinity of such beach (unless such operation takes place within a dwelling house).
- 3 Power saws may be operated on weekdays (being Monday to Saturday inclusive) upon any beach in The Corporation of the District of Oak Bay, or in the immediate vicinity of such beach (unless such operation takes place within a dwelling house), between 8:00 o'clock in the morning and 7:00 o'clock in the afternoon.
- 4 Every person who contravenes this Bylaw shall be liable upon summary conviction to a fine of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for each such offence.
- 5 Bylaw No. 2015, being "Regulation of Power Saws Bylaw, 1957", is hereby repealed
- 6 This Bylaw may be cited as the "Regulation of Power Saws Bylaw, 1976".
