TOWN OF OSOYOOS
BYLAW NO. 1300, 2013
A BYLAW TO IMPOSE A PARCEL TAX ON OWNERS OF LAND UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF SECTION 200 OF THE COMMUNITY CHARTER
WHEREAS the Regional District of Okanagan - Similkameen ("RDOS") has
established a museum service (the "Museum Service") for the benefit of the residents of
Electoral "A" and the Town of Osoyoos (the "Town");
AND WHEREAS Town Council is empowered by the Community Charter to impose a
parcel tax to provide funding for a service;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed desirable and expedient to impose a parcel tax on land
benefiting from the Museum Service;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Town of Osoyoos in open meeting assembled
enacts as follows:
1.
A parcel tax shall be and is hereby imposed on each parcel of land in the Town of
Osoyoos (the "Parcel Tax") for the purposes of the Museum Service.
2.
The Parcel Tax shall be imposed on all parcels of land in the Town as a single
amount for each parcel in the amount of $17.13 per parcel, with the exception of
those parcels of land which Town Council has, by bylaw, exempted from
municipal taxes.
3.
The Parcel Tax shall be imposed for the 2013 taxation year and imposed annually
thereafter for a total term of twenty (20) years, from 2013 through 2032.
4.
The Collector is hereby directed to prepare a parcel tax assessment roll under
section 202 of the Community Charter.
5.
This bylaw shall be cited as the Museum Parcel Tax Bylaw No. 1300, 2013.

Adopted this 2nd day of April , 2013.
