CITY OF PARKSVILLE
BYLAW NO. 1492
A BYLAW TO ESTABLISH AN OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN FOR THE
CITY OF PARKSVILLE
PLAN PARKSVILLE: A VISION FOR OUR FUTURE
WHEREAS Section 876 of the Local Government Act permits the City to adopt the Official
Community Plan Bylaw;
WHEREAS Council has prepared a new Official Community Plan covering the entirety of the
land and water within the City of Parksville's municipal boundary;
WHEREAS Council has provided opportunity for consultation with persons, organizations and
authorities it considers will be affected pursuant to section 879 of the Local Government
Act;
WHEREAS Council has, in accordance with section 882 of the Local Government Act, after
first reading, considered the Official Community Plan Bylaw in conjunction with its financial
plan and waste management plan and referred it to the Agricultural Land Commission;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Parksville in open meeting assembled enacts as
follows:
1.
That "Official Community Plan Bylaw, 2002, No. 1370" and all schedules and
amendments thereto, are hereby repealed.
2.
The document entitled "Plan Parksville: A Vision for Our Future - Official Community
Plan" and its text, schedules, maps, appendices, tables and figures, attached as
Schedules "A", "B", "C", "D", "E", "F", "G-1", "G-2", "G-3" and "G-4" of this bylaw is hereby
adopted as the Official Community Plan for the entirety of land and water within the
City of Parksville's municipal boundary.
3.
Severability: No provision in this bylaw depends for its validity on any other provision
and if any provision of this bylaw is held by a court to be invalid the remaining
provisions of the bylaw shall remain in full force and effect.
4.
This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as "Plan Parksville: A Vision for Our Future,
Official Community Plan Bylaw, 2013, No. 1492".
