Consolidated Bylaw No. 1269 Page 1 of 1 CITY OF QUESNEL BYLAW NO. 1269 A Bylaw to allow interest on money accepted by the Collector to be applied at a future date in payment of taxes. WHEREAS the Council may by Bylaw provide for the acceptance by the Collector of monies to be applied at a future date in payment of taxes; AND WHEREAS the Council may in such Bylaw provide terms and conditions upon which such money shall be accepted and held; AND WHEREAS the Council may allow interest on monies so held; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Quesnel, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. This Bylaw shall be cited for all purposes as "Interest on Advance Payment of Taxes Bylaw No. 1269 of 1994". 2. The Collector is hereby authorized to accept monies to be applied at a future date in payment of current year property taxes in the City of Quesnel. 3. Monies tendered for the advance payment of taxes shall be in the amount as determined by the Collector but shall not be greater than the gross taxes paid in the previous year. Bylaw 1754 replaced Section Section 4: 4. Funds accepted in accordance with this bylaw shall have interest applied at a rate set in accordance with s. 239 of the Community Charter. 5. Interest shall not be allowed on monies accepted after May 1st, in each year. 6. Bylaw No. 931, cited as "Interest on Advance Payment of Taxes Bylaw No. 931 of 1982" is hereby repealed.
