A Bylaw to Establish Fees and Charges for Various City Services and Goods
__________________________________________________________________________
WHEREAS pursuant to the Community Charter, the Council of the City of Revelstoke may,
by bylaw, impose a fee payable in respect of all or part of a service of the municipality, the
use of municipal property, or the exercise of authority to regulate, prohibit or impose
requirements;
AND WHEREAS Council is desirous of setting fees to defray certain administrative costs and
services;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia, in
open meeting assembled enacts as follows.
1.
THAT this Bylaw may be cited as the "Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 2256".
2.
THAT the City of Revelstoke imposes fees and charges for the provision of goods,
services and information as specified in Schedules A through M inclusive, attached
hereto and forming part of this bylaw:

Wherever this Bylaw sets out fees and charges with respect to other City of Revelstoke
Bylaws and such other Bylaws contain similar fees and charges, this Bylaw is deemed
to prevail.
4.
If any section, subsection or clause of this Bylaw is for any reason held to be invalid by
the decision of a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision will not affect the validity
of the remaining portions of this Bylaw.
5.
THAT this bylaw shall take effect on January 1, 2020.
6.
THAT the Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 2008 is hereby repealed in its entirety.

Cancellation Policy

The City reserves the right to retain the deposit (if applicable) if this cancellation requirement is not
followed.

To receive a full deposit refund, a minimum of 14 days (2 weeks) notice must be provided for cancellation
of any meeting room or multi-purpose room booking.

For cancellations received more than 1 week before booking date but less than 2 weeks prior to the
booking date, one-half of the deposit is forfeited.

Cancellations with less than one week notice will forfeit the full deposit.

In-kind bookings who forfeit their meeting room booking will be subject to an administration fee.

An administration charge will also be applied to any cancellation where less than two weeks' notice is
given.
PROGRAM AND PROGRAM FEES FOR FACILITIES
The Parks, Recreation & Culture Department wants you to enjoy your recreation experience. A minimum 1-week
cancellation notice is required otherwise 50% of the program cost will be applied with 100% of cost applied with 48
hours or less cancellation notice.
There is no fee to transfer to another program or class. Refunds are not given after the program begins unless
circumstances are beyond the individual's control. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone any program or activity
due to inclement weather or low enrollment. FULL refunds (excluding online processing fees) will be issued if the
Revelstoke Parks, Recreation & Culture Department cancels the program. In the event of a program cancellation or
refund request, reimbursement of the course fee may take 1-3 weeks.
All online processing fees are nonrefundable.
The Recreation Services Coordinator networks with community organizations, citizens, and other agencies in the
development of programs and activities benefiting the residents of Revelstoke. The coordinator may implement
specialized programs, under the authority of the Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture, as offered in the seasonal
Leisure Guides.
