THIS BYLAW IS PROVIDED FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE RELIED UPON
IN MAKING FINANCIAL OR OTHER COMMITMENTS. COPIES OF THE ORIGINAL BYLAW AND
AMENDMENTS MAY BE VIEWED AT THE DISTRICT OF SOOKE MUNICIPAL HALL.
A bylaw to impose fees and charges for services and information.
WHEREAS of the Community Charter authorizes municipalities by bylaw to impose fees
in respect of a service of the municipality or provision of information;
AND WHEREAS the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act provides for
the payment of fees to a public body for certain services;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the District of Sooke, in open meeting assembled,
enacts as follows:
Citation
1.
This Bylaw is cited as the Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 752, 2019.
Fees and Charges
2.
The District of Sooke imposes fees for the provision of services and information
as specified in Schedules 1 to 10 inclusive.
3.
Fees or charges imposed under this bylaw for the provision of services or
information apply instead of fees or charges imposed under other bylaws for the
same services or information. A reference to a more specific matter supersedes
a reference to a more general matter.

Severability
4.
If any portion of this bylaw is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction,
then the invalid portion must be severed, and the remainder of the bylaw is
deemed valid.
Force and Effect
5.
This bylaw shall come into force and effect on January 1, 2020.
Repeal
6.
Fees Bylaw, 2011 (No. 488) and any amendments to, are hereby repealed.
Read a FIRST time the 25th day of November, 2019.
Read a SECOND time the 25th day of November, 2019.
Read a THIRD time the 25th day of November, 2019.
