The Municipal Council of the Corporation of the District of Summerland, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. In the construction of this By-law: "HIGHWAY" includes a street, road, lane, bridge, viaduct and any other way open to the use of the public, but does not include a private right-of-way on private property. "MUNICIPALITY" means the Municipal area comprised within the boundaries of The Corporation of the District of Summerland. 2. The respective names and numbers of all streets, roads, lanes and highways in the Municipality as shown in Schedule "A", attached hereto and forming part of this By-law shall conform to and are hereby assigned to those streets, roads, lanes and highways as marked and named or numbered on the Plan attached hereto and forming part of this By-law and referred to as Schedule "B". 3. The names and numbers of the respective streets, roads, lanes and highways shown in Schedule "A", and as marked and named or numbered in Schedule "B", shall be designated in prominent places on the said streets, roads, lanes and highways within the Municipality, under the direction of the Municipal Superintendent. 4. The Municipal Clerk shall keep a register of the names and numbers of all highways, streets, roads and lanes in the Municipality. 5. That By-law Number 1172 and By-law Number 1268 be and are hereby repealed. 6. This By-law shall take effect immediately upon the filing of a certified copy of same with the Registrar of Land Titles at the Land Title Registry Office, Kamloops, British Columbia. 7. This By-law may be cited for all purposes as "The Summerland Street Name Changing By- law 1655, 1975."
