BYLAW NUMBER 2OI8.006
A Bylaw to impose a parcel tax to pay for the costs of the Local Sanitary Sewer
Service Area (Mountain View Growers)
WH EREAS the Council of the Corporation of the District of Summerland is empowered by
Section 200 of the Community Charterto impose and levy a parcel tax to meet the cost of
works and services that benefit land within the sewer specified area of the municipality;
AND WHEREAS the District of Summerland has adopted Bylaw No. 2017-016 -A Bylaw
to establish a Local Sanitary Sewer Service Area (Mountain View Growers), which
establishes a Local Area Service for the use of existing capacity in the sewer mains, lift
stations and the wastewater treatment plant associated with the extension of sewer to the
service area, and stated that the cost of the local area service would be recovered by a
parcel tax on the parcels in the area;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the District of Summerland in open
meeting assembled enacts as follows:
A parcel tax is hereby imposed to provide all of the funding for the Local Sanitary
Sewer Service Area (Mountain View Growers).

The parcel tax is imposed on each of the parcels within the local service area, for a
period of 6 years, commencing January 1,2018.
The parcel tax roll used to levy this parcel tax shall be the "Local Sanitary Sewer
Service Area (Mountain View Growers) Parcel Tax Roll".
The parcel tax rate shall be imposed upon the basis of a single amount for each
parcel in the LocalArea Service.
The parcel tax rate shall be at the rate of Two Hundred dollars ($2OO¡ per parcel,
per year, or as a single lump sum payment of $1,200.00 per parcel in 2018.
This bylaw may be cited as "ParcelTax (Mountain View Growers) Bylaw Number
2018-006".
