TOWN OF CARBERRY
BY-LAW 6/2020
BEING A BY-LAW OF THE TOWN OF CARBERRY TO PROVIDE FOR TAX
INCENTIVES FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION AND/OR RENOVATIONS TO
ELIGIBLE PROPERTIES WITHIN THE TOWN OF CARBERRY.
WHEREAS Section 261.2(1) of the Municipal Act states that "A Council may by
by-law establish financial assistance programs."
AND WHEREAS the Town of Carberry desires to attract investment through a
commercial, residential, and industrial tax incentive program;
AND WHEREAS the Town of Carberry desires to encourage the development
and renovation of its downtown core area;
AND WHEREAS the Town of Carberry deems it advisable and in the best
interests of the municipality to establish a financial assistance program;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Town of Carberry, in the Province of
Manitoba, in open meeting, hereby enacts as a by-law the following:
1. That this by-law be called the "Tax Incentive By-law."
2. The Downtown Property Tax Incentive Policy marked as Schedule "A",
which is attached to and forms part of this by-law, is hereby approved.
3. The Residential Development Tax Incentive Policy marked as Schedule
"B", which is attached to and forms part of this by-law, is hereby approved.
4. The Industrial Development Tax Incentive Policy marked as Schedule "C",
which is attached to and forms part of this by-law, is hereby approved.
5. The Commercial Development Tax Incentive Policy, marked as Schedule
"D", which is attached to and forms part of this by-law, is hereby approved.
6. This by-law shall come into force and effect on the day after passing
thereof.
DONE AND PASSED by the Council of the Town of Carberry duly assembled in
Carberry in the Province of Manitoba this 12th day of May, 2020.
