INTENT
Establishing a requirement for Public Works staff to notify owners/residents of work planned to
be carried out on private property, in order to ensure proper communication between the
Public Works department and members of the public.
2.
PROCEDURES
When entering onto private property in order to carry out work for the Municipality, Public
Works staff must notify the owners/residents at least 24 hours in advance.
Staff must leave property in the same condition they found it in, notwithstanding any necessary
work to be completed.
This policy does not apply in case of an emergency in which Public Works staff are not able to
provide the required notice.
