Grandview Municipality
New Employees or Promoted Employees

Resolution No 2015-423
Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to outline the Municipality's procedure for the hiring,
termination or promotion of employees
Procedure:
The hiring of new employees or the promotion of employees to a new position will be
authorized by a resolution of Council.
The dismissal, suspension, or demotion of current employees will be determined by the
CAO.
Newly hired employees and employees receiving a transfer or promotion are subject to a
six (6) month probation period, with employment to be reviewed at the end of three (3)
months and at the end of six (6) months.
The CAO may terminate a new employee during the six month probation period. In the
case of a transferred employee, the CAO may return the employee to their former
position during the six month probation period.
