<!-- image --> ## Accessibility Plan Passed: November 2017 Revised: November 2019 ## Municipality of Glenboro South Cypress Accessibility Plan ## PART ONE: Baseline Report ## A: Overview The Municipality of Glenboro South Cypress has 1565 residents and includes the communities of Glenboro, Stockton and Treesbank. The following outlines the current facilities and services offered by the Municipality. ## B. Services Provided/Municipal Buildings Public Works - Road maintenance - Garbage and recycling pickup - Waste Transfer Station - Sidewalk snow removal - Grass cutting / flower watering/ tree trimming in public spaces - Cemetery maintenance - Sewer maintenance - Passenger ferry operations - Custom Work for Ratepayers - Bulk Water ## Municipal Office - Collection of taxes - Accounts receivable and payable - Cemetery - Light tourism / general inquiries - Animal control - Various permits - Complaints - Charitable donations - Photocopy/fax/scanning services - Requests for public works - Sale of Municipal Maps ## Library - Municipally owned building, leased and managed by Western Manitoba Regional Library ## Weed Control District (Seasonal) - Provides spraying of a variety of pesticides to customers within the municipality and beyond. Services are generally contracted by phone. Payments are accepted at the municipal office. - -Scale service available for ratepayers ## Fire Department - -Fire Protection Services - -Board room available for meetings - Ambulance Services are housed in the same facility ## Urban/Rural Workshops - Workshops are for municipal equipment and staff only. Accessibility Achievements ## Public Works - Curbs in business district have clearly marked cut outs and are wheel chair accessible. - Sidewalks in financial district are cleared of snow prior to general business hours following any significant snowfall. - Municipal Office - Wide and clear hallways and doorways. All rooms are spacious. - Large washrooms - Wheel chair accessible ramp in rear of building - Staff are available to speak English and French - -Public notifications are posted in office, the post office and online - Council chambers and washrooms, located in Fire Hall, are wheelchair accessible - Office staff regularly assist customer with forms, cheques, etc. as needed - Central location to receive payments for Municipal, Handi-Transit and Weed District Accounts and various charitable donations ## Handi Transit Services - The Municipality in partnership with the Municipality of Oakland-Wawanesa owns and operates three wheelchair accessible vehicles to provide transportation services to all residents on a regular and on-call basis. ## Library - -See attached audit ## Waste Transfer Station - Waste Disposal Supervisor assists with emptying waste from vehicles - D.
