PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to outline the procedure for giving permission to cut municipal roads
to allow for tile drainage.
POLICY STATEMENT
It is the policy of Council to give permission relating to tile drainage for maintained roads to be
cut upon an approved application to the Municipality with an application fee.
PROCEDURE
1. Application to be made to the Municipality with an application fee of $500 (as at 1 January
2018).
2. Applicant, upon signing the application form, agrees to -
a) Be responsible for line locates
b) Be responsible for all signage associated with road closure while the work is
being done.
c) Make good the municipal site to the approval of the rural Public Works
Foreman
d) Be responsible for any associated road repair costs within the following 24
months of job completion.
3. Applications reviewed by the Works and Operations Committee and approval/rejection
will be noted in the minutes.
4. Where a road cut is on an undeveloped road allowance no permit fee of $500 is applicable
but an application is still required
5. A rejected application will result in refund of application fee.
