## Rural Municipality of Hanover By-law No. 1993 Being a By-law of the Rural Municipality of Hanover to regulate and control skunks in urban areas of the municipality to be known as the "Skunk Control By-law". WHEREAS the Rural Municipality of Hanover is empowered under Section 232(1) of the Municipal Act, SM 1996 c.58 Cap. M225 to pass by-laws for municipal purposes respecting the following matters; - (a) the safety, health, protection and well-being of people, and the safety and protection of property; - (k) wild and domestic animals and activities in relation to them, including by-laws differentiating on the basis of sex, breed, size or weight; AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient and in the public interest to regulate and control skunks in urban areas (including Grunthal, Mitchell, Blumenort, New Bothwell and Kleefeld) of the Rural Municipality of Hanover; AND WHEREAS it is unsafe for unauthorized individuals to discharge firearms in urban areas or NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Rural Municipality of Hanover in regular session assembled, enacts as follows: 1. That skunks are hereby prohibited in all areas execept "AG80" zone 2. That the Animal Control Officer shall be empowered and authorized to capture and destroy skunks in the above stated urbanized areas of the municipality; 3. That the Animal Control Officer be paid a rate set by resolution of Council on a per skunk captured and destroyed in the urban areas of the municipality; 4. This By-law shall come into full force and take effect upon the passage thereof.
