## THE RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF THOMPSON By-law No. 2-2026
Being a by-law of the Rural Municipality of Thompson to amend By-Law No. 10-19 and By-Law No. 6-2021 respecting water and wastewater rates for the Miami Water and Wastewater Utility.
WHEREAS the Public Utilities Board ("PUB") approved Board Order No. 140/22 authorizing member municipalities of the Pembina Valley Water Co-op ("PVWC") to pass through increases in wholesale water rates to consumers without further application to the PUB;
AND WHEREAS the PUB approved Board Order No. 23/26 establishing new wholesale/bulk water rates for PVC effective July 1, 2026 and subsequent years;
AND WHEREAS the Rural Municipality of Thompson purchases bulk water from PVWC and must adjust its utility rates to reflect the approved wholesale water rate increase;
AND WHEREAS Council deems it necessary to amend the water rates charged to customers of the Miami Water and Wastewater Utility to reflect the PVC pass-through increase;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Rural Municipality of Thompson, in council duly assembled, enacts as follows:
1. THAT Schedule "A" of By-Law No. 6-2021, as amended by By-Law No. 7-2023, be further amended by replacing the rates for the year 2026 with the rates set out in Schedule "A" attached to this by-law.
2. unchanged. THAT all other rates and provisions of By-Law No. 6-2021 and amendments thereto remain
