Wpdata\By-Laws\2026 By-Laws\1469 2026 - Fees Charges By-Law.Docx FEES & CHARGES Rural Municipality of Victoria BY-LAW NO: 1469/2026 BEING A BY-LAW OF THE RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF VICTORIA to revise and update the fees payable to the Rural Municipality of Victoria for municipal services rendered under the authority of The Municipal Act. WHEREAS the Council of the Rural Municipality of Victoria deems it advisable to include in one by-law the fees and charges payable to the Municipality for certain services rendered by officers and employees of the Municipality; and, NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF VICTORIA IN OPEN SESSION ASSEMBLED HEREBY ENACTS AS A BY-LAW AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT this By-law shall be known as the FEES AND CHARGES BY-LAW for the year; 2. THAT the fees and charges payable to the Rural Municipality of Victoria for services rendered by officers and employees of the Municipality shall be as set out in the following schedules attached hereto; Schedule "A" Public Safety Schedule "B" Operations Schedule "C" Economic and Community Development Schedule "D" Finance and Administration 3. THAT Council may from time to time, by resolution, amend each and every schedule attached to this by-law. 4. THAT the fees and charges set out in the schedules attached to this by-law shall take precedence over any other by-law. 5. THAT any unpaid fees or charges owed to the Municipality by any tax payer including any penalties related thereto as well as any fines imposed on the taxpayer by the court for contravention of the Municipal By-Laws may be added to the taxes of the said tax payer and may be collected or enforced in the same manner as a tax as defined by the Municipal Act, L.M. 1996 c.58. 6. THAT By-Law #1462/2025 hereby be repealed. DONE AND PASSED by the Council of the Rural Municipality of Victoria in regular session assembled, this 11th day of February, A.D. 2026. Solid Waste a) The fees payable for nonresident and commercial use for disposal at the Waste Disposal Grounds shall be: i) Semi Trailer 500.00 ii) Trucks and Tandems (3 ton truck and/or large trailers) 350.00 iii) Single Axle Trailer 200.00 iv) Tandem Axle Trailer 300.00 v) Single Axle Truck (½ ton box) 100.00 vi) Semi-Trailer load of dirt only 200.00 vii) Tandem load of dirt only 100.00 b) Access to the Waste Disposal Grounds outside operating hours 75.00 c) Charge for disposal of appliances with freon 30.00 per unit 2. Drainage Permits a) The fees chargeable for an Application to Construct Drainage Works: i) Application 500.00 ii) Along a Municipal Right-of-Way and Cutting Road 500.00 iii) Along a Municipal Right-of-Way via Directional Drilling 500.00 3. Cemetery a) The fees chargeable for the purchase of cemetery graves at Brookdale Cemetery shall be: i) Grave (1 plot) 150.00 ii) Lot (includes 4 plots) 250.00 b) The fee chargeable for Perpetual Care at Brookdale Cemetery for each and every internment shall be: 350.00 c) The fee for identifying and marking grave sites shall be: 100.00 Page 5 S:\1. Fees for Special Services Any customer wishing to have a meter tested for accuracy will pay in advance a fee of $100, plus any applicable meter testing costs. If the meter is found to be faulty, all costs associated with the testing process will be borne by the RM. If the meter is found to be in proper working order, all costs associated with the testing process will be borne by the customer. Fire Inspections The fees associated with the inspection of facilities charged by the Fire Inspector duly appointed by the municipality will be invoiced to the organization that is requesting or is required to be provided with the services. Taxes: a) Tax Certificate The fee chargeable for a Tax Certificate with respect to the land described in each entry in the tax collectors' roll for which a tax certificate is furnished 20.00 b) Penalties A late payment charge (Penalty) of 1.25% per month shall be charged on the dollar amount owing after the billing due date shall be: 1.25%/month d) Tax Sale Costs Basic Office Administration fee $ 50.00 and ALL fees and charges associated with TAXervice d) Status of Inquiries The fee chargeable per tax roll entry shall be N/C 2. Outstanding Invoices and Accounts a) The fee chargeable for an outstanding invoice or account with respect to goods or services that have been provided will be charged the following interest rate: over 30 days 1.25% over 90 days Added to Taxes b) Outstanding invoices or accounts with respect to goods or services that have been provided and for which payment has not been made after a 60 day period will be applied to the legal description of the property in/on which the service was provided. c) The municipality will refuse to provide any further service to any individual(s), for which an outstanding invoice or account with respect to goods or services that have been provided and for which payment has not been made after a 60 day period, and for which there is no property legally registered to the individual(s) who made application for the goods or services.
