## The Village of St-Pierre-Jolys BY-LAW NO. 2016-8
BEING a By-Law of the Village of St-Pierre-Jolys for the temporary control and regulation of vehicle traffic over roads within the Village.
WHEREAS Section 232(1)(d) and (m) of The Municipal Act, S.M. 1996, c.58 empowers a municipality to pass by-laws respecting municipal roads and local transportation systems;
AND WHEREAS Section 232(2)(e) of The Municipal Act, S.M. 1996, c.58, empowers a municipality to provide for a system of permits and approvals;
AND WHEREAS Section 236(1)(b)(ii) of The Municipal Act, S.M. 1996, c.58, authorizes a municipality to impose fines for bylaw contravention;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed necessary and expedient to restrict the weight of vehicles on municipal roads;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Village of St-Pierre-Jolys in session assembled enacts as follows:
1. THAT all trucks be limited to 65% normal axle loads excluding front axle.
2. THAT under special circumstances, an access permit may be granted to restricted vehicles by permission of the council of the Village of St-Pierre-Jolys.

4. (i) Every person who contravenes, or refuses, neglects, omits or fails to obey or observe any provision of this by-law is guilty of an offence and is liable, on summary conviction, to a minimum fine of $500.00 and a maximum fine not exceeding $1,000.00.
5. (ii) If a contravention, refusal, neglect, omission or failure continues for more than one day, the person is guilty of a separate offence for each day it continues.
4. THAT school buses and emergency vehicles and essential services be exempt from this by-law.
